The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards formally announced its 2008 Class of National Board Certified Teachers to the public and media, December 9, National Board Certification Day. Gilbert Public Schools is extremely proud to announce that the District has 74 National Board Certified Teachers, the most NBCTs in the state of Arizona, in terms of cumulative total. Fifteen GPS teachers earned National Board Certification in 2008. They are:
National Board Certification is the teaching profession’s highest standard of excellence. Candidates who voluntarily apply for National Board Certification have met rigorous standards through intensive study, expert evaluation, self-assessment, and peer review.
